How does Cursed, your latest title, fit in with the rest of your Innsmouth series?
Because Cursed is a novella I don’t want to give too much away about the story’s content but I will say, in the first book (Fearless) readers were introduced to Innsmouth University. In the second book (Unearthed) readers saw what the university staff do when they’re involved in research. In this third book we get to see how some of the students behave in their social groups such as the urbex group ‘The Explorers Club’.
But you asked how this fits in with the rest of the series.
In the first book we were introduced to characters who work in the English department of Innsmouth University. This is going to be important for the next title in the series (the book that comes after Cursed) and will tie in with the overall direction of the narrative. There were a couple of clues in Unearthed when readers visited Clevedon Manor and met members of the Order of Dagon. This is going to build on the events of Cursed where we’ve met some of the IU students and now understand they have a penchant for urban exploration and the allure of the supernatural.
I have a broad idea of how the series will progress but I don’t want to commit to specifics just yet because I don’t want to limit the scope of what I could do here. What I will say is, Cursed is the most fun I’ve had with a story in a long time and I really hope readers enjoy this one.
